boat rentals on the saco riverFor the paddle adventures, there is a variety of canoe or kayak trips offered at the campground. The Saco River, noted for its beautiful, cool, crystal clear water and sandy beaches, offers hours or days of enjoyment for both the beginner and expert canoeist.

Rates include – canoe and kayak rental, shuttle service to one location, life jackets, paddles, and parking.
(Private shuttling of our canoes is not permitted.)

  • Non-Group Canoe Reservations: A minimum deposit of 50% is due at time of reservation and paid in full one week before reservation date.  
  • Holiday weekends & Fryeburg Fair Week:  100% deposit required with absolutely no refunds. NOTE:  During Fryeburg Fair Week we will only shuttle to Lovewell Pond and Walker’s Bridge.

Group Canoe Reservations:  Group leaders have 7 days to make the 50% deposit.  (Canoes will be released if payment is not received within that time.)


  • Refunds (minus a $10.00 service charge for each canoe canceled) are given, provided proper written notification is received 14 days or more prior to the arrival date.
  • There are no refunds if you do not need a boat at the last minute.  No exceptions! (If a member of your group cancels at the last minute, they are still responsible.)
  • This includes cancellations for inclement weather, any other whim of Mother Nature, high or low waters, closing of river by order of law enforcement, early departure, late arrival, personal reasons, or inappropriate behavior resulting in eviction from campground.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service or rental of our equipment to any person who is intoxicated.  No refunds will be made.  This policy is consistent with the Saco River Livery Association.
